Indian government officials have ordered that all bottles of water in
the Indian state of Chhattisgarh should be recalled and checked after
an official found a live snake in one during a ceremony. The government
event was taking place at the headquarters of the Bharatiya Janata
Party, the ruling political party in India, when a doctor noticed that a
live baby snake was swimming inside the water bottle.
Security
forces, who were guarding the building at the time, took the bottle away
to investigate further. Important ministers were present when the snake
was discovered, including the federal Health Minister, who ordered that
all bottles at the event should be withdrawn and that checks need to be
carried out across the state.
However, the owner of the company
that sells the mineral water is skeptical of the turn of events and
believes there is a conspiracy against him. According to him, the snake
had been placed in the bottle after it had been opened. “It’s a conspiracy against me. When I was shown the bottle, its seal was broken,” he said.
